Disaster Relief Fund
Between April 25 and 28, an historic tornado outbreak took place across much of the Southern United States as well as parts of the Midwest and Northeast.  With over 300 confirmed tornadoes and 322 fatalities, the outbreak ranks as one of the worst in United States history.  One of the hardest hit areas was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and in the direct vicinity of the University of Alabama.  In the days following the storms, members of the UA community and the local SAL chapter reached out and contributed in countless ways to assist the Tuscaloosa community and help with relief and recovery efforts. ...

Bowling Social
In addition to service projects, meetings and fundraising, many SAL chapters will hold social events for members to have a chance to get to know each other. The Indiana University held a bowling social for their members. They met at the Indiana University Memorial Union Bowling Alley for pizza and bowling. Food Fight Against Hunger
SAL members at University of Central Oklahoma had an incredible Food Fight for Hunger. Members donated food, money and time to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. The money and food were raised throughout the entire Fall semester through meetings and events. Members who donated were given coupons for a free game of bowling (donated by a local alley).  ...

Habitat for Humanity
SAL members from the University of North Carolina Greensboro Chapter gave of their time to volunteer with the Habitat for Humanity. The project assigned to the group was to put siding on a house. Members arrived early Saturday morning and began with a training session.
