St. Jude Radio-Thon

SAL members at Murray State University heard that a local radio station was putting on a radio-thon fundraiser to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and wanted to see what they could do to help. They volunteered to help out with the 8-hour event.

During the radio-thon, the station sold raffle tickets for a Harley Davidson motorcycle. SAL members helped to answer phones and sell the tickets. The station asked people to call in to become “Partners in Hope,” pledging money to St. Jude’s. SAL members were ready to answer the phone whenever someone called.

Overall, the event raised over $81,000! All the money raised went to St. Jude’s and will go a long way in helping them cure cancer.
