Swoop’s Pantry March Madness
Each year, Swoop’s Pantry (an on-campus food bank) hosts a March Madness event to increase donations across the EMU campus. Sigma Alpha Lambda members are invaluable to this project. Sixteen buildings on campus competed with donations. The top eight competed the second week, with the top four and final two competed in the following respective weeks. Each week of the competition, SAL members were responsible for collecting, sorting, and counting the items for the pantry.
“This event was very fun,” said Dereka Bennett, Chapter President. “We got to socialize and meet new people. We also got to see how Swoops is run and organized by social work majoring students and faculty.”
