2019 marks an important year in the history of SAL’s Relay For Life initiative, as it is the tenth year that Sigma Alpha Lambda members have come together to contribute in the fight against cancer. This year was no different, with SAL members raising over $11,000.
Time and time again, chapters found creative ways to make an impact. For example, SAL’s Binghamton University chapter capitalized on St. Patrick’s Day by hosting a special holiday-themed fundraiser. Likewise, SAL’s University of North Carolina Wilmington chapter hosted a bake sale to raise funds for their team. The University of Mississippi chapter even found creative ways to raise money on event day, offering face painting and food to guests.
In addition to raising money, SAL chapters found unique ways to assist those who have been impacted by cancer. For instance, SAL’s University of Iowa chapter hosted a game night at their local Hope Lodge. In addition to this, SAL’s New Mexico State University chapter volunteered their time to lend a hand at their local survivor’s dinner.
Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Relay For Life event! We’re proud of your commitment to making a positive impact in the world, and your efforts will continue to help support important cancer research!
