The Polar Express
Sigma Alpha Lambda at University of Akron volunteers annually at The Polar Express. At The Polar Express, children arrive in their pajamas to board the train and listen to someone read The Polar Express story. Elves serve them cookies and hot chocolate while they ride. When they arrive at "The North Pole," all the characters from the story act out their roles. This year, SAL members dressed up as elves and a gingerbread man. Free to Breathe 5K
The Sigma Alpha Lambda members from University of North Carolina Greensboro joined together to help The North Carolina Lung Cancer Partnership put on the Free to Breathe 5K. The 5K raised money for lung cancer awareness, research and support. SAL members volunteered to run the Kids' Dash, and give out balloons and temporary tattoos.
