Veteran’s Day
Florida international University honored the veterans of our great nation with a flag memorial in their honor. In addition to the flag placing, members and others who were attracted to the memorial held a moment of silence. Afterwards, SAL treated all to a cold beverage.
“I feel like we owe a lot to those that are willing to put themselves at risk to protect the freedom we all enjoy in this country. It is my duty as a naturalized US citizen to show appreciation and gratitude to those who have fallen, those who are away from their family and loved ones, and those who have served bravely for our nation,” said Arlet Montes, FIU Chapter Vice President.
