Corky’s Cupboard

SAL members at Emporia State University used a chapter meeting time to take up donations for Corky’s Cupboard, an on-campus food pantry for students. They went door-to-door asking for donations and received excellent results. In less than an hour, members collected over 90 non-perishable food items. The event was a great way for new members to get involved and for all members to get to know one another better.

“Our members were excited to be able to do an activity that was both engaging and interactive,” said Chapter President Linsey Albee. “We were excited to be able to give back to students on our campus community through a fun way.” Due to the event’s success, the chapter plans to do this activity again in the fall for the Food Fight Against Hunger.
