Youth Service America Grant
Every year, Youth Service America awards 100 Sodexo Youth Grants of $500 each to support youth-led service projects in the United States that address the issue of childhood hunger on Global Youth Service Day. Chelsea Mouton, the VP of Community Service at the University of Louisiana Lafayette Chapter, spearheaded the effort to apply for this grant. Because of her efforts, the SAL Chapter at the University of Louisiana Lafayette was a recipient of one of these awards this year.
For their project, the members plan to hold a campus-wide food drive at ULL, involving all students, faculty and organizations. This event will take place on Global Youth Service Day.
