Special Olympics Spring Games
The Special Olympics is a world-wide organization that provides an opportunity for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to play sports. In addition to providing training to these athletes, they hold events as a way for the athletes to be able to compete. When the local Special Olympics chapter held a Spring Games event, the SELU SAL members came out to volunteer.
Members were put in charge of keeping time at the various races that took place. They were on their feet the whole day but had a great time helping out. It was inspiring to watch the athletes and see how talented they are. Chapter President Lindory Dyson said that this would not be the last time SAL volunteered with Special Olympics!
