Around The World at Michael J. Kenney Center

SAL members at Southeastern Louisiana University took the time to make a difference in their community by volunteering at an event put on by their local community center, Michael J. Kenney Center. This event was called “Around the World” and was organized to introduce the youth of the community to different cultures.

Several language organizations from Southeastern Louisiana University set up booths about their specific culture. Each SAL member that volunteered was also a member of one of these organizations.  Two members from the Spanish Club made flowers with the kids. The SAL members from Le Cercle Français (The French Circle) taught the children French introductions and about French and Cajun food.

The members had a great time teaching the kids about different cultures and loved seeing how fascinated the kids were as they explored the booths and learned about other cultures.
