Meal for Firefighters
Little Falls Fire Department near Montclair State University received a home-cooked meal from the university’s SAL members! The SAL volunteers cooked and delivered dinner, and they also stayed to chat with the firefighters about their job duties, the long shifts, and how the job affects their life in general. The members enjoyed connecting with the firefighters and showing gratitude for how they risk their lives to protect the rest of the community. The firefighters were grateful for the meal and the company.
When asked why their chapter chose this event, Chapter Co-President Kyarah Bautista said, “ I wanted to give back to firefighters, because every day on the job they give back to us. They give us protection that we could not live without; and for that we should be extremely thankful.”
