Up ’til Dawn
Up ’til Dawn is a fundraiser to raise money for St. Jude Research Hospital. St. Jude is committed to finding a cure for cancer and provides care for children from all over the country. This year’s theme at Illinois State University was “Black Out Cancer.” Members of the SAL Chapter came out to make a difference during this event.
The members wrote letters for this event asking peers to make donations to St. Jude. Every dollar raised makes a difference because St. Jude runs primarily on donations from the public. Each member felt empathy for each of the patients and families who shared their stories at the event. Up ’til Dawn created a deeper awareness of childhood cancer and its effects.
In addition to addressing the letters, the members were able to participate in fun activities at the event. There was mini golf, entertainment and raffle prizes. Because of the letters they sent, the chapter was able to raise $440!
