Breast Cancer Awareness

Florida International University SAL members joined with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to promote breast cancer awareness during the month of October.  Members sold baked goods, pink cancer ribbons, cotton candy, soda and t-shirts.  This event was very personal to many SAL members and officers, and they were able to raise over $400 to fight breast cancer.

The President and Vice President of the university, the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, FIU’s mascot, and a local employee of the Susan G. Komen office stopped by this successful event.

According to event coordinator and Chapter VP of Academic Achievement Kyle Zreibe, “it was the most rewarding feeling knowing that everyone came together to make an incredible difference in our community.”
