Beautification of Hudson Park
Cleaning up streets, parks and other public places is an easy way for SAL members to give back to their communities. The ASU Chapter did just that at Hudson Park in Tempe, AZ. At the activity, people from Faithful City Church and ASU came together to rake leaves, pick up trash, and clean the park so children can play in a safe environment. After cleaning up, all of the volunteers had a barbecue to eat and just socialize with one another.
Chapter Vice President Shaton Williams reflected, “Overall this activity was very fulfilling. This activity was completed and it felt good to be able to affect change in the ASU community and help the children in the Tempe neighborhood have a safe park to play in. We achieved a clean park and made new friends to further network and do service projects with.”
