This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Shiver on the River Run SAL’s Virginia Commonwealth University chapter lent a hand to Keeping Virginia Beautiful by playing a key role in the Shiver on The River Run event.

Pumpkin and Paint Night The Virginia Commonwealth University chapter tapped into their creative sides by hosting a Pumpkin and Paint night. Members enjoyed apple cider as they painted step-by-step as a group.

Shiver in the River Run A little cold weather couldn’t stop the SAL members at Virginia Commonwealth University. They volunteered for the Shiver in the River run in Richmond by cheering on the runners, assisting with checking in, and passing out environmental bags.

9-11 Flag Memorial

SAL Remembers Each year, Sigma Alpha Lambda recognizes our heroes from September 11, 2001. Our Flag Memorial event is where chapters all across the country take over a popular area on campus and place flags with the slogan “Sigma Alpha Lambda Remembers.”


During the month of October, several chapters enjoy getting out into their communities and participating in local Halloween events! From dressing up and handing out candy to children to raising funds and awareness for those in need, read on to see what some of our chapters did to mark the holiday!
