Fall Clean-Up
The Fort Collins community has been well cleaned by the SAL members at Colorado State University! They volunteered with Off-Campus Life to rake leaves, move flower pots, clean gutters, do landscaping, wash windows and more for the elderly and those unable to clean their own yards. The members were divided into two different project groups where they prepared yards and homes for the upcoming cold weather. They were all treated to a big lunch when the work was over, and that was a great way to end the morning for the volunteers.
Chapter Secretary Anna Hoover was very enthusiastic about this event. She said, “I think this is such a great opportunity to connect with people living outside of campus life and get a sense for what it takes to maintain a residence–I definitely think we will do this, again and again, year after year until they don’t do it anymore! My favorite part was when the group I was in got to discuss local topics and our career paths over lunch with people who had different perspectives and pearls of wisdom, it was really rewarding.”
