This holiday season, many SAL chapters gave to kids in need through Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Individuals and groups such as our SAL chapters collect small items such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items and other gifts to fill a shoe box. These boxes are then delivered to kids all over the world who might not otherwise get a present during the holidays.
The San Diego State University Chapter put together 23 boxes that some of their officers are going to personally deliver to an orphanage in Tijuana!
The University of Nebraska Lincoln Chapter held a packing party where they put together and wrapped 42 boxes! This has become an annual event for the UNL Chapter and this year they doubled the amount of boxes that they put together last year!
Some chapters, such as the Rowan University Chapter, asked members to put together boxes on their own time and then bring them to a meeting or drop-off location. The University of Louisiana Lafayette Chapter also had members put together boxes and bring them to meetings.
