Granada Street Kids is an organization to help street kids in Nicaragua, the second-poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. They teach the kids how to make colorful jewelry that is sent to the US to be sold as a way for the kids to make money for their families. This Fall, some SAL chapters sold Granada Street Kids Jewelry on their campus.

When selling the jewelry, the chapters can either send 100% of the money back to the Granada Street Kids, or they can use it as a fundraiser for their chapter and only send part of the funds back to the organization. The San Diego State University Chapter decided to send all of the funds they raised through selling the jewelry back to the kids. They raised over $600! The chapter at Old Dominion University set up a booth on campus and were able to raise over $400 as well.

The Mississippi State University Chapter used this as a fundraiser but sent most of their money back to the kids. They set up a booth on campus and sold the jewelry to students. So far they have sold over $300!
