New Member Welcome Ceremony
New member ceremonies are a great introduction to the chapter for members who have recently joined SAL. UGA and many other chapters across the country hold these annually in addition to their service projects and other initiatives. These ceremonies are a way for the new members to get plugged into the chapter and meet the other members, as well as a chance for them to learn what SAL is all about.
The ceremony was held in the chapel at UGA. Several officers spoke and all the new members were introduced and given a certificate and a key chain.
Stephanie Skipper, UGA’s Chapter Support Representative, attended the welcome ceremony. She was honored to be invited to speak at the event and was excited to meet the officers and members in person. She said, “It was really nice to see that families and friends drove into town to be a part of this year’s UGA ceremony. These events recognize the member’s achievement in academics and gives the member an opportunity to launch into becoming an active, involved member of their SAL chapter.”
