Thanks to the overwhelming support from Sigma Alpha Lambda members from around the country, we have met our $2,500 goal for the Sponsor An Athlete fundraiser with Special Olympics and we are happy to say that SAL will helping to make someone’s Olympic dreams come true this August at the World Games. This is SAL’s first year sponsoring an athlete and we are so thrilled to take part in this incredible opportunity to make an impact in the life of a Special Olympics athlete.

Our athlete is Matthew P., a 25-year-old from Australia. He will be participating in three track and field events: 200m Run, 400m Run and 4x100m Relay. The money we raised will cover Matthew’s expenses after he arrives in Los Angeles, including all food, medical care, entertainment, and housing at the Athlete Villages at either USC or UCLA. It’s so inspiring that we were able to reach our fundraising goal of $2,500 in our first year sponsoring an athlete.
