NETwork Against Malaria
The University of Virginia Chapter decided to partner with another organization, NETwork Against Malaria, to help those in need. NETwork Against Malaria makes beaded bracelets which are then sold. The funds are used to help purchase malaria netting and medicine in areas that are at high risk of contracting the disease. While enjoying ice cream and other desserts, SAL officers, members and representatives from NETwork Against Malaria worked together to make roughly 30 beaded bracelets. The bracelets were sold around the campus.
Chapter Vice President Ciceli Bradshaw thought this was a great event. “This was a great hands on activity that everyone seemed to love! We will likely work with them in the future,” she said.
