Undy Run/Walk for Colon Cancer Awareness
SAL members understand the importance of early detection and screenings when it comes to cancer. That is why the UTA Chapter volunteered with Undy Walk/Run for Colon Cancer Awareness. Volunteers helped with equipment setup and breakdown, registered colon cancer participants, passed out water, and passed out boxer shorts. The members hope to participate in the event again next year.
Chapter President Dwane Tomlin really enjoyed the day. “The atmosphere was very energetic and the people appeared very happy to be there. The whole event experience just makes one realize how important it is to live in the moment, not take a day for granted, and be thankful and appreciative of the life we have because tomorrow is never promised,” he said.
