Volunteering at the Zoo
What is a fun and unique way to give back to your community? Volunteering at the local zoo! Several members from the University of Oklahoma Chapter teamed up with other organizations from their school to do just that. They gave a few hours of their time to help out at the zoo.
The volunteers were broken up into groups and did a variety of tasks, from working in the pachyderm house to helping children, from working in the hoofed stock exhibit to helping the janitorial staff. Through these tasks, the volunteers were able to learn a little bit about how a zoo is run. Chapter Vice President Bryan Terrel said, “We had fun and felt that our work and presence were appreciated and welcomed.”
