Out of the Darkness Walk

Members of the University of North Carolina Wilmington Chapter participated in the Out of the Darkness Walk. This was a 2.5 mile walk around Wrightsville Beach for suicide prevention and raising awareness. Many sponsors and community members all came together for this event.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Walk is a nationwide event to raise money for AFSP’s vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives. The walks raise awareness about depression and suicide, and provide comfort and assistance to those who have lost someone to suicide.

With their participation and assistance in raising awareness, the University of North Carolina Wilmington Chapter felt great about coming together for this cause and supporting those dealing with it.
