Clothing Drive
SAL’s University of North Carolina Greensboro chapter helped to make a huge impact in their community by assisting local nonprofit Backpack Beginnings.
According to chapter president Miaya Small, “Backpack Beginnings provides free clothing to needy children ages 0-17 in Guilford County.” In order to support Backpack Beginnings, the chapter organized a clothing drive event at their university. The event ended up being a massive success, with the chapter nearly doubling the goal that they set for themselves.
“Our goal was to collect 150 articles of clothing, but we surpassed our goal by collecting over 275 articles of clothing,” said Miaya. “The people working at Backpack Beginnings were very pleased with our donation.”
