Toys for Tots & Tree Lighting
Members of the UNCC Chapter of SAL love to participate in a wide variety of activities with their chapter. Toys for Tots is an annual event for them during which they volunteer with the United States Marines at Piedmont Town Center for a big toy drive and tree lighting event.
Members collect the toys and organize lines for various activities such as a train ride, horse & buggy rides, balloon figures, face painting, and pictures with Santa. Chapter President Justin MacGregor reflected: “With December immediately following Thanksgiving this year, it really pushed the event to an awkward date before Thanksgiving that shrank the crowds some from previous years, but we still raised hundreds of toys and thousands of dollars.”
