Welcome to Sigma Alpha Lambda Sigma Alpha Lambda is a National Leadership and Honors Organization dedicated to developing the individual and serving our campus and community. The mission of Sigma Alpha Lambda is to recognize members for academic achievement, to engage members in service, and to develop members for leadership. Service is the foundation of our leadership development model as well as the leadership of the organization itself. Through service, individuals look outside themselves and lives are changed, not only for the one being served but even more so for the one serving. As a result of this process, the individual learns more about who they really are and what they value. Our Statement of Purpose and organization

  Statement of Purpose of Sigma Alpha Lambda To promote academic excellence at the chapter and national level and to encourage high academic achievement among school-aged children in our community. To engage university students, faculty, and staff as well as the surrounding community in meaningful, relevant service initiatives and raise awareness for worthwhile causes. To promote an understanding of the service model of leadership, to educate on the philosophy of leading through service, and to develop leaders to who incorporate service into their lives.

DIY Cat Toys for Humane Society

Some of Lincoln’s cats are happier thanks to our University of Nebraska Lincoln SAL chapter. Members there made do-it-yourself cat toys at their chapter meeting this month.

The homemade cat toys were donated to a local Humane Society. Members also contributed small boxes for the cats to snuggle in.
