SAL members at University of Maryland College Park cleaned up their community as a group service project. Wearing gloves and hauling trash bags, they walked around the city for several hours picking up trash. When the event was over, they tossed what they collected into the dumpster, and went on with the rest of their day. It doesn’t take much to make a big difference.
“We collected so much more trash than we even imagined there would be. There was so much more we could’ve done,” said Madison Listisen, Vice President of Community Service for UMD’s SAL chapter.
