Health and Wellness Presentation

Mental health has taken a toll on many during this unprecedented global pandemic.  SAL officers at University of Maryland in College Park, MD have been working hard this year to be sure members aren’t just surviving but are thriving through wellness workshops.  This time, they invited peer educators from the school’s Health and Wellness Center to host an interactive presentation on taking care of yourself and others during this time.  They also learned about the eight dimensions of wellness.  Members had worksheets to reference during and after the event and were also able to attend Zoom breakout sessions.  The members enjoyed gathering together virtually and learning something during the process.

Kaleigh Pikulsky, chapter president, said. “Personally, I thought it was validating to hear the experiences of other students during the pandemic, and it really made me feel like some of my experiences were normal.”
