UMD Zoom Study Session
SAL members at the University of Maryland College Park did not let social distancing keep them from coming together to support one another. During these unusual times, virtual encounters have taken the place of traditional meetings and study sessions for our UMD chapter members and most others worldwide.
During a Zoom call, SAL members connected with each other by sharing their experience in quarantine thus far and collaborated in preparing for their upcoming finals. President Kaleigh Pikulsky said that “the purpose of the Zoom call was to cultivate an environment of academic accomplishment and academic support prior to our all-online finals.” Although Pikulsky stated that in-person study groups typically achieved greater results, this substitute online session was successful. We are proud of our SAL members at UMD for using innovative methods to continue to connect and support one another.
