Craft Fair for a Cause
University of Maine’s SAL chapter brought back the school favorite Craft Fair for a Cause.SAL members invited local crafters to set up a table at the fair. There was a cost to have a table, a concessions costs, and a small admissions cost for shoppers to enter the area. All fees went directly to a youth homeless shelter, the Shaw House in Bangor. Crafters also donated an item to two raffles that shoppers could enter as an additional incentive to attend the event. All crafters kept the money they made from selling their beautifully handmade products. So many great connections were made among shoppers, crafters, and SAL members who all care about their community’s well-being.
