St. Joseph’s Diner

Members from the University of Louisiana Lafayette Chapter volunteered at a local soup kitchen called St. Joseph’s Diner. The diner provides food to the hungry in a number of ways, including free lunch which is always prepared by volunteers. The members prepared a meal for the residents at the men’s shelter at St. Joseph’s.

While preparing and serving the meal, the members also got a chance to talk to some of the residents. Chapter President Chelsea Mouton said, “Even though it was our first time volunteering at the diner, they came up to us and thanked us for the work that we were doing.”

In addition to volunteering, the chapter was also able to make a donation to the St. Joseph’s Diner of the funds they had raised selling Food Fight Against Hunger t-shirts.
