Craft Night at the Hope Lodge

SAL’s University of Iowa Chapter recently held a craft night for patients at the Hope Lodge!

The Hope Lodge is a place for cancer patients to stay when they are undergoing treatment at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. For their craft, members and patients painted tin cans and turned them into spring planters. Everyone was able to decorate his or her own can and plant a seed.

“This was an excellent activity for our chapter,” said Chapter President Brandon Johnson. “We have visited the Hope Lodge three times this school year and each time has been a tremendous experience. The people we meet are great to talk to and truly appreciate all of the volunteers that help.”
