Street Cleanup
SAL members at UIUC recently participated in cleaning up their local Fourth Street. Fourth Street is one of the most popular streets on campus as it connects the north and south parts of campus and has a lot of food traffic, making it one of the most littered streets in the area.
SAL officers keep a supply of bags and gloves for members to use each semester during the clean-up. Over the past two semesters, it has become one of the most highly attended SAL events. Members loved that this was a fast and easy volunteer event that showed them how simple it is to make a difference. After the work was completed, they all met at an on-campus restaurant for appetizers and socializing.
