Rose Pruning at Botanical Gardens
SAL members at the University of Alabama Birmingham wanted to clean up their community this semester and chose to help Botanical Gardens prepare for spring. Members and officers worked together with the Gardens staff to prune the rose beds. They also removed extra stems and debris.
Rebecca Rupert, local Chapter President, was inspired by her past visits to Botanical Gardens and wanted to help make it lovely. Along with her members and officers, she was successful in her mission. “The gardens were beautiful by the end of our rose pruning efforts. The Botanical Garden officials were pleased with our efficient work,” she said.
