Be the Match
The UAB SAL Chapter participated in Be the Match, the National Bone Marrow Registry. This event was new to Sigma Alpha Lambda this year and proved to be a great success.
SAL members set up a table and signed up members for the registry. They also helped by bringing people to the table, handing out flyers, educating people, and helping take cheek swabs. They were able to add 18 new people to the registry!
“As SAL members, we educated ourselves about the bone marrow donation process. Together Be the Match and Sigma Alpha Lambda contributed to the cause of finding a bone marrow donor for patients with blood cancers all over the nation,” said Harper Goodman, Chapter President.
