Neighborhood Clean Up Day
SAL members at Southern Illinois University Carbondale recently gave back to their community by helping to do some general cleaning in a local neighborhood!
Teaming up with Green Earth and Keep Carbondale Beautiful, the volunteers were assigned specific areas on which to work. They were assigned a couple blocks and cleaned up the ditches by picking up litter.
As Chapter President Elizabeth Fraley summarized, they gave of their time “to help remove trash from the environment and neighborhood. We did well, gathering many bags of trash.”
