Adopt-A-Classroom

The Rowan University Chapter decided to give back to their community by adopting a classroom. They used the Adopt a Classroom website to find a teacher in their area. They were connected with Mrs. Beth Reitz, a fourth grade teacher at Oak Knoll Elementary School. She provided the members with a “Wish List” of items she needed for her classroom.

The members gave generously to be able to provide the students with everything they needed. Once all the items had been collected, Chapter President Meg Sickler and Chapter Secretary Jen Besthoff visited Mrs. Reitz’s classroom to deliver them. All their hard work paid off when they saw the faces of the students who would benefit from their gifts. Meg and Jen spent some time with the kids and participated in Thanksgiving-themed crafts and activities.

“I know that because of our help, Mrs. Reitz will be able to worry less about having adequate supplies for her classroom and focus more on how to provide her students with more fun and enriching learning experiences,” said Meg after her visit to the school.
