Salvation Army Bell Ringing
To Jessica Rentas, Chapter President at Purdue University, seeing the Salvation Army Bell Ringers signals the start of the holiday season. This year, she wanted her chapter to be a part of how Salvation Army helps so many in need. SAL members gathered their supplies at the local Walmart and began ringing bells right away. They greeted customers and thanked them for their donations. Even one of their advisors decided to participate.
“My favorite part of this event was the attitude of one of our advisors. She joined us in bell ringing and she had a lot of enthusiasm and positivity. She greeted every customer and sang Christmas carols. She made a lot of people smile and I think she even increased the amount of donations we received, ” said Jessica.
Another favorite part to this president was seeing how generous people can be. “Sometimes it’s hard to see that there is still good in the world and this event helped my outlook.”
