Supporting the Community

SAL’s Mississippi State University chapter made the most of March by participating in two major volunteer events.

During the first event, chapter members came together to take part in Volunteer Columbus, a local initiative aimed towards providing support for the city of Columbus.

“We had a great time repairing roofs and moving tree limbs,” said chapter president Courtney Love. “As always, it was truly an honor to help those in need.”

In the later event, chapter members took part in The Big Event by contributing to the “Odd Fellows Cemetery’s beautification department.” Specifically, chapter members helped the cemetery by removing trash and cleaning headstones, among other things.

“This event was very successful and gave us the opportunity to bond with other organizations at MSU,” said Love. “At the end every organization was able to claim a tree and lay wood-chips around each tree.”
