The new school year is under way for most of our chapters, and many are getting off to a great start with kick-off meetings, new member welcome events, student organization fairs, and even a few service projects! Several chapters have “hit the ground running” and hope to keep that momentum as they look forward to making new friends, striving to be better students, developing their leadership potential, and making a difference on their campus and in their community.

As many new students arrive on campus, student organization fairs are a great way for chapters to get the word out about SAL and how those interested can get involved. We have already received many inquiries about how to become a member and join those who are making there mark locally through SAL!

Several chapters have already held their kick-off meeting for the fall semester, which gives new and returning members a chance to get to know their chapter officers and learn more about SAL as a national organization as well as a local presence. Food, ice breakers and games, and brainstorming about potential service projects and other initiatives are all common themes in this first meeting of the year.

Keep checking back as we begin to highlight specific chapters and what they are doing to bond as a chapter and make an impact in their communities!
