Adopt-A-Street
The SAL chapter at JMU stays very active throughout the semester with a variety of ways that members can get involved. One way that they give back to their community is by adopting a street to clean.Members usually meet up on campus and then drive together to their adopted street. They are given orange vests and gloves to wear while picking up trash, which takes about two hours to complete when you have plenty of volunteers. Says Chapter Historian Natalie Scholberg, “SAL members love doing this specific community service activity! Many members came to this event and had fun while picking up trash on Pear Street!”
