In addition to service projects, meetings and fundraising, many SAL chapters will hold social events for members to have a chance to get to know each other. The Indiana University held a bowling social for their members. They met at the Indiana University Memorial Union Bowling Alley for pizza and bowling. This event took place during the week before finals, so it was a great way to take a break from studying and relax with friends.
Lindsay Michael, chapter President, said, “I had fun getting to know the members better, as the social, compared to meetings and volunteering, brings out a different side of people one does not normally get to see. It was fun to let loose and de-stress after a stressful weekend of studying for finals. I think everyone had a good time, even if they were not so great at bowling (like myself).”
