Highway Clean-up
Every state has an Adopt-a-Highway program, which is a great way to make a visible difference in the community. Many SAL chapters take the opportunity to adopt a road or lot and regularly organize clean-ups to keep it litter-free. The SAL chapter at Indiana University of Pennsylvania works together to clean up a section of highway near the school.
It was a cold and windy day, but the members worked hard and cleaned up a lot of trash along the road. They will continue to come back to keep the highway litter-free. This service project is a way that members can make a visible difference in the community by regularly coming out to clean up their adopted highway.
