A recurring theme we are seeing with several of our chapters this year is gathering together or even using part of an already scheduled chapter meeting to make cards for hospitalized children and others that may not get to spend certain holidays in the way they would desire.
Many of these chapters have shown their creativity by making Cards for Hospitalized Kids. Members at Florida International University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Western Michigan University, Texas A&M University, Clemson University, San Diego State University, Boston University, and University of South Florida have all devoted their time and talent to making cards they hope will brighten the day for children who have to spend all or part of the holiday season in the hospital.
The University of Wisconsin Whitewater Chapter and the Murray State University Chapter made cards for elderly patients at local health care facilities. Members at the University of Pittsburgh showed some holiday love by making cards for our service men and women. The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Chapter made cards for both nursing home and children’s home residents. And members at the University of Southern Mississippi made cards for cancer patients at a local clinic, with some members even asking if they could help deliver the cards!
We know that the efforts of these members will be appreciated far and wide as the recipients see the creativity and love expressed through the simple gift of a hand made card!
