Hockey Night Fundraiser
SAL members at Binghamton University turned a fun social event into a successful fundraiser for their chapter. The Binghamton Devils minor league hockey team reached out to SAL to work together. SAL promoted the event through flyers and Facebook and scheduled ticket sales around campus. For every ticket SAL members sold to the hockey game, two dollars went back to the chapter. Members enjoyed watching the game together, and as a bonus, officers were able to table from 6pm-10pm at the game to take donations for hurricane relief.
Chapter President Jessica Van Name said this event was a huge success. “Sports attract a lot of attention and the entire community was exposed to our organization and initiative. It was a great night,” she said.
