Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade

The Arkansas State University celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a week-long celebration that included a performance at “Dallas Black Dance Theatre,” a candlelight vigil, and more. Members of the SAL chapter participated in a parade where over 20 organizations marched for a mile in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. legacy.

The theme for the celebration was “The Dream Still Lives,” and all the events commemorated the vision and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as serving as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done. The members and officers that walked together in the parade were able to take part in continuing to make that dream a reality.
