Leadership Opportunities

The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Food Fight Against Hunger

Continuing the Fight in 2017 The Food Fight Against Hunger is the centerpiece of SAL’s fall volunteering. This year, 26 chapters worked SO hard to collect over 5,000 items and over $1,000 to fight hunger.

One of the best times for Sigma Alpha Lambda members to serve others is Valentine’s Day. This year, several chapters took the opportunity to spread cheer and love.

More Than Words Sigma Alpha Lambda members at Boston University had a great time volunteering with More Than Words, a non-profit organization that uses a bookstore to empower youth who are in foster care, court-involved, homeless, or out of school.

Card-Making for a Cause

A recurring theme we are seeing with several of our chapters this year is gathering together or even using part of an already scheduled chapter meeting to make cards for hospitalized children and others that may not get to spend certain holidays in the way they would desire.
