Walk to End Alzheimer’s SAL’s University of North Carolina Greensboro chapter recently volunteered their time at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event.
The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Clothing Drive SAL’s University of North Carolina Greensboro chapter helped to make a huge impact in their community by assisting local nonprofit Backpack Beginnings.
Continuing the Fight in 2017 The Food Fight Against Hunger is the centerpiece of SAL’s fall volunteering. This year, 26 chapters worked SO hard to collect over 5,000 items and over $1,000 to fight hunger.
This season a common service idea was to send cards to people who may need an extra pick-me-up. This is a great service project because it is easy, inexpensive, and truly appreciated by the recipients.
Backpack Beginnings UNCG members of Sigma Alpha Lambda had a fun time volunteering with Backpack Beginnings!
UNCG Fun Fest Fun Fest is a free event on campus at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, hosted by the Wellness Center. Each organization hosts a booth with a theme about alcohol awareness. The SAL chapter was asked to host a booth and came up with the theme, “Instead of drinking alcohol, you can eat sundaes!”
