Make a Difference Day
SAL members from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee recently participated in their school’s Make a Difference Day and were assigned to help a local elderly resident prepare her home for the winter!
Some of the assigned tasks included raking, collecting leaves and pulling weeds. The resident that they helped was so appreciative of the help and offered the volunteers cookies and treats for their hard work!
Chapter President Lauren Meyer said of the day’s activity: “There was a lot of positive feedback with this service event! We have participated in the past and people seem to really enjoy helping out the community. I was happy to see that members were really having fun while participating in such a helpful cause!”
